For material up to 1000 words long, you can simply insert the text into the body of your e-mail message. Recent versions of e-mail software from Netscape (Messenger), Microsoft (Outlook) or Qualcomm (Eudora Pro) do a great job of maintaining the formatting of documents. If formatting problems should arise, we will simply request you to retransmit your e-mail or try one of the other submission methods.
When e-mailing materials to us, please put the following text in the subject header:
English editing / English translations / Query
Please also include your name and e-mail address in the body of your message.

If your material is more than 1000 words long, send it as an e-mail attachment file. But please let us know what kind of file you are attaching. The file extensions that work best are .doc (MSWord document format), .txt (text files), .wri (Write files) or .pdf (Adobe Portable Document format).

We can also set up a password-protected FTP directory for your firm at our site, where you can upload files and do a controlled download when the editing or other work is completed.
DOC, TXT, WPD, Adobe Acrobat PDF, HTML, WML, XML and other types of files can be uploaded to and downloaded from this directory.
FTP is a secure and fast way to transfer files, especially large ones containing images or other complex data. With FTP you dont have to worry about e-mail protocols corrupting your files. The process consists of logging on to a remote FTP server and copying files from your computer to a directory on the remote server. FTP software allows you to log on with a user name and password, and transfer your files and data. If security is a major issue, some FTP clients have file encryption features. After we have finished working on the files, they are copied into your FTP folder and you can "pick them up" at your convenience.
We can also work through an FTP directory located on your company's Intranet or another network. If you need FTP software (either client or server versions), contact us for additional information.
For FTP freeware and shareware, as well as more information about how FTP works, take a look at the following web sites (just copy the URL into your browser):
http://www.imagescape.com/helpweb/ftp/ftptop.html
http://shareware.cnet.com/ (search term = "FTP")
http://download.com (search term = "FTP")

If your company requires an FTP directory at our web site, please contact us by e-mail. You will be given the FTP host name and assigned a directory, user name and password.
We also have online disk space available, where you can simply upload and download materials with your web browser. Though this alternative also involves using a user name and password to access the online disk storage space, the procedure is less secure than the FTP alternative; however, since you only have to use your regular browser software, this method is far easier for most people to use - especially if they are not familiar with FTP, or if the system administrator where they work (for "security" reasons) will not allow them to install or use an FTP client.
If your materials are extensive, you might prefer to save them to disk (either a 1.44 MB standard HD floppy disk, an LS-120 SuperDisk, an Iomega 100 MB or 250 MB Zip disk, or an Iomega 1 GB or 2 GB JAZ disk), and to express mail or deliver the disk to us by courier.
But before sending us anything, please e-mail us a brief description of your project along with a rough page count (A4, double-spaced, font = 12 point Courier or Arial, all margins = 1 inch or 2.54 cm) and a total word and/or character count. We may want to communicate with you concerning formatting and other details before you send us the files.
Whatever method you use to submit materials, your documents will always be handled with complete discretion and absolute confidentiality.
